About Data Standards
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette utilizes the Banner integrated database. UL Lafayette recognizes that data standards are vitally important in protecting the data assets of the University by maintaining accurate and consistent data that is standardized for use in all areas of the University.
The Data Standards Committee was formed to collaboratively develop the Data Standards Manual. This manual is a standards policy reference guide. Recommended changes to the manual and/or Banner validation tables should be submitted to the Data Standards Committee for review. Data Standards will recommend changes to the Change Control Board for final approval.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to establish guidelines for:
- Stewardship of the University’s data and records maintained in the Banner database
- Ensuring data integrity and consistency
- Roles and duties for ensuring responsible use
